I am a recent addition to the CBC Library staff. I moved from Weed, California to try out the rainier side of life in Oregon. As the Extensions Librarian I spend most of my days working in the beautiful Philomath Community Library. I enjoy working with patrons of all ages to find everything from princess books to the latest and greatest reads. When I’m not at the library I try to get in some hiking, backroad rambling, and trips to the magnificent Oregon shore. I also like to try my hand at culinary challenges and sample wines from throughout the region. Read my blog posts here.

I am in my second year here at Corvallis-Benton County Public Library.  I am a native Texan and I formerly worked for four years at Faulk Central Library in downtown Austin as a reference librarian.  I love to read (comics and contemporary fiction, especially), find and listen to great music, play video games, garden, and enjoy the fantastic new scenery surrounding me by hiking or biking.  I select the books on pets, gardening, cooking, and travel as well as the comic books for all ages and the adult Spanish language books, movies, and music for the library.  Read my blog posts here.

I have been working in Oregon libraries for 6 years, beginning at Corvallis-Benton County Public Library as an on-call Librarian, and I’m very happy to return. I have lived briefly in India, Hong Kong, and Canada, where I got my library degree. As a consequence of growing up in Washington D.C., I think that 90 degree summers are cool and all museums should be free. I hike when I can, read mostly cookbooks and science fiction, and tinker with computers. I still can not juggle five objects at once, but I practice occasionally. Read my blog posts here.

I am going into my second year at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library and am very happy to work with such wonderful colleagues and for the great community in Benton County. Prior to the CBCPL, I worked in higher education at Oregon State University and the University of Florida. When not working, I enjoy reading, hiking, digital photography and adding to my collection of LP records.  Read my blog posts here.

I recently started working as a reference librarian at the Philomath Community Library, though I’ve been involved with the Corvallis-Benton County Library for the past eight years.  I’m excited about my new position and am enjoying getting to know the Philomath community.  I love to help patrons find what they’re looking for, put together book displays, and conduct the occasional storytime.  I’m originally from Michigan, but now call Oregon home.  I feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful, friendly place that doesn’t get much snow.  When I’m not at the library, I like to read, walk, garden, and travel.

I have been the Adult Services Manager  for 11 years.  I supervise a team of highly motivated, tech-savvy, well-read professional librarians.  Together we form the second floor librarians and staff an information desk, develop the materials collection and provide a well-loaded website. Previously I worked in libraries in Salem, Portland and Lawrence, Kansas. When I’m not hanging out at the library you might find me working in the yard, walking, knitting or reading. I’ve been a Reference Librarian since 1980 — the last 13 years have been here at Corvallis-Benton County Public Library.  I spend about half of my week in Youth Services and the other half with the Second Floor team of Librarians.  I enjoy working with all ages of Library patrons and especially like to share how to use the many Library database subscriptions, find a great book to read, and maneuver the ever changing world of reading technology.  Having lived in Corvallis for 25 years, I am grateful for the community support of our Library and the many things to do in our small city.  In my free time, I read (of course), play outside, and pursue the domestic arts.  Read my blog posts here.
