About

I have been working in Oregon libraries for 6 years, beginning at Corvallis-Benton County Public Library as an on-call Librarian, and I’m very happy to return. I have lived briefly in India, Hong Kong, and Canada, where I got my library degree. As a consequence of growing up in Washington D.C., I think that 90 degree summers are cool and all museums should be free. I hike when I can, read mostly cookbooks and science fiction, and tinker with computers. I still can not juggle five objects at once, but I practice occasionally. |
| I have been a reference librarian in Corvallis for six years. I select the art, craft and health books for the second floor, and enjoy promoting the collection through our website, as well as blogging about books and programs. When not working hard at the library, I enjoy checking out the local food scene, and I also love to be active, whether it’s playing basketball or hiking. Read my blog posts here. |
| Almost two decades ago, I found my niche with the second floor librarians. I enjoy my vantage point, watching the changing landscape of technology, welcoming patrons as they crest the stairs, jingle our phone, arrive on chat, or read our blog. I select materials in subjects that interest me most, psychology, philosophy, religion and literature, with the capable assistance of you, our most literate, well-informed public. Keep your great suggestions coming. Read my blog posts here. |
| I have been the Adult Services Manager for 11 years. I supervise a team of highly motivated, tech-savvy, well-read professional librarians. Together we form the second floor librarians and staff an information desk, develop the materials collection and provide a well-loaded website. Previously I worked in libraries in Salem, Portland and Lawrence, Kansas. When I’m not hanging out at the library you might find me working in the yard, walking, knitting or reading. | I am a recent addition to the fabulous second floor librarian team and am looking forward to working with the Corvallis community! I have been volunteering and working in several different libraries for several years now, but also have experience working with college student athletes at OSU and the University of Florida. When not working, I enjoy reading, hiking, and adding to my collection of LP records. Read my blog posts here. |
| I am a recent addition to the CBC Library staff. I moved from Weed, California to try out the rainier side of life in Oregon. As the Extensions Librarian I spend most of my days working in the beautiful Philomath Community Library. I enjoy working with patrons of all ages to find everything from princess books to the latest and greatest reads. When I’m not at the library I try to get in some hiking, backroad rambling, and trips to the magnificent Oregon shore. I also like to try my hand at culinary challenges and sample wines from throughout the region. Read my blog posts here. |
| I recently moved here from hot, dry Austin, Texas to work as a reference librarian with the wonderful second floor librarians. I worked for four years at Faulk Central Library, in downtown Austin, where I was a reference librarian and the graphic novels selector. I love to read (comics and fiction, especially), find and listen to great music, play video games, garden, and enjoy the fantastic new scenery surrounding me by hiking or biking. I select the computers, psychology, philosophy, religion, domestic science, music & entertainment, and travel books for the library. Read my blog posts here. |
