Need Something to eread?

ePub is the universal format for ereaders. Our new Library2Go ebooks come in both PDF and industry standard ePub formats. The format available is given at the bottom of the item record. Below are a number of sites including our OverDrive collection in Library2Go where you can access ePub formatted ebooks. I have circled (in pink) how you can choose the ePub format on these various websites.

The International Digital Publishing Forum [IDPF] created this format to launch the ebook revolution and it sure has taken off! Many hardware ebook readers support ePub (with the exception of Kindle, currently) and there are numerous applications to read them on your smartphone, netbook, laptop or wherever. Just as a point of clarification, all ePub are not created equal. ePub and PDF that is offered through Library2Go uses Adobe Digital Editions [ADE] for Digital Rights Management [DRM]. These ePub titles expire after 1, 2 or 3 weeks depending on the loan period you choose.

ePub found elsewhere (mostly of Creative Commons or public domain classics) is provided without DRM and does not expire. So where else can you find ePub formatted books? Below are a few of my favorite sites and I have circled where you choose the ePub format.
