Tracy Daugherty's new book in the NY Times' Sunday Book Review
Corvallis’ own Tracy Daugherty, professor in the English Department at OSU, has a new book out.
It’s called Hiding Man – A Biography of Donald Barthelme, and this past weekend it was featured in the New York Times’ Sunday Book Review. You can also listen to a 15 minute podcast with Tracy Daugherty on the site.
From the review by Colm Toibin:
“Daugherty … has managed to make a case for a body of work in which the best stories have the aura of a second act, and to create a convincing narrative out of a life that was deeply engaged, passionate and maybe even fulfilled, despite the demons, and out of a life of the mind that was rigorous, exacting and, despite Barthelme’s early death, deeply productive.”
Tracy Daugherty will be reading from Hiding Man at the Corvallis library at 7 pm on Thursday May 21st.
