This week is Holocaust Memorial Week at OSU. They have a variety of excellent commemorative events planned, including lectures and a film screening. The general public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

There will also be a talk by George Wittenstein, who was a member of The White Rose, a student resistance movement in Germany. This is an amazing chance to hear a first-hand account of a group of students from the University of Hamburg, who spoke out against the Nazis. Six members of the group were executed. Wittenstein’s talk will be held at the LaSells Stewart Center (map) on Wednesday, April 22nd at 7 pm.

Here at the library we have a display of books and DVDs for Holocaust Memorial Week – you’ll find it on the second floor.
