Hi Kris, we did think about doing evening classes. Unfortunately, it didn't work out, due to the availability of some of our presenters, as well as the limited hours in our Alsea and Monroe branches.

Because our library is funded by the taxpayers of Corvallis and Benton Co., our series is only taking place in Benton County, and anyone is welcome to attend. But there are great resources available to you in Linn County. WorkSource Oregon is offering some of our sessions here at the library. They have offices all over the state (in Lebanon and Albany as well), and offer free classes, similar to what is being presented at our library. Contact them directly for more information on the many great services they offer job seekers.

You may also want to contact the Albany Public Library to see what resources and services they have available to job seekers. You can call them at (541) 917-7580 or email them.

What a wonderful idea to have seminars for those of us who are suddendly out of a job after 17 years or longer and need to brush up on these skills. However some of us have made other commitments during the day such as voluteering at various churches or schools or outreach programs to occupy our time and can't be there during the day to take the class. Have you thought about having an evening class sa from 7-9 p.m.? Any chance of these classes being taught in either Lebanon or Albany?

This would work well in normal times, but when there are literally no jobs available, the shortfall being in the millions, it's not going to help much to hone application and interview skills for what does not exist.
