Oregon Book Award Winners Announced!

Congratulations to Corvallis’ own Paul VanDevelder, who won the Oregon Book Award for general non-fiction with his book Savages and Scoundrels (Yale University Press).

All of the fantabulous weather we’ve been having lately has turned my thoughts towards things like camping and hiking. If you’re feeling the same way, the library can satisfy your wanderlust with all sorts of outdoor guidebooks. We’ve got everything from books on wilderness survival to cooking over a campfire.

Award-winning authors reading at Corvallis

On Monday, April 20th at 7pm, we are honored to have three Oregon Book Award winning and nominated authors visiting our library. They will be reading from their books, and afterward there will be conversation with the authors, book sales and book signing.

Here is our very own History of Benton County by David D. Fagan in ebook form! We have a paper copy in reference and an all name index in the library too. This title is a go-to standard for local history.

The Oregon 150 Booklist

The Oregon State Library released the Oregon 150 Booklist yesterday, to celebrate Oregon’s sesquicentennial. (I am such a pro at spelling that word by now.)
